Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! It is kind of
exciting to be on the other side of the world and can celebrate
holidays a whole day earlier. When it turned 2013 in Korea everyone
back home was still in a different year. Kinda crazy to think about
huh? It is also interesting to see how the year 2012 turned out for
me. It was not exactly what I thought it would be but I am thankful
for all the experiences and people I have met in the year 2012 and
would not change any of it. Now it is the year 2013 and I am excited
to see how this year turns out. One of the things that I am really
excited about this next year is exploring more of Korea and going to
the many festivals Korea has to offer.
This past weekend I had the opportunity
to go to an ice fishing festival in Hwacheon (North of Seoul). I went
with a group of about 25 foreigners through a tour guide group aimed
for foreigners. I believe pictures tells more than words so I will
give you a sense of my trip through my pictures.
Our first stop on our trip was Nami
Island, which is a five hour bus ride from Gwangju (one of the bigger
cities near my town). We took a ferry to the Island. Nami Island is a
very popular tourist site and was also a site where a famous Korean
drama was filmed.
The next place we went to was Petite France
(the French village). This was also the place we stayed at for the
night. Petite France was maybe one of the cutest place I have ever
stayed at. It was also a site where my favorite K-drama was filmed at
(Secret Garden). ^^
Later that night we went to the
Botanical Gardens. This was place was my dream come true... I felt
like I was stepping into a fairy tale.
The next day we went to the ice fishing
festival.
This festival might be one of my favorite adventures so far. I am excited for the weather to warm up and for the many more adventures I am going to take. The one I am really looking forward to is the Cherry Blossom Festival!
Now that December is over (Christmas month and homesickness month) I can get back to normal and be the young adventures woman God made me to be and explore and have a wonderful time without regrets. I am thankful for all the opportunities I have been given and am excited to see where my life goes in these next few years. I am living what I have been praying for, for so long so I better enjoy it while it lasts! *^o^*

Oh my gosh! I can't believe you caught a fish!!! AND that "Little France" place looks NICE!!! Why don't they make the rest of Korea look like that!?
