Goodbye Korea... I will miss you

In less then 3 weeks I will be home. I can't believe it! I said all my goodbyes to my students but it is still not hitting me that I will be leaving Korea soon. I am so thankful for my time here. I have grown and learned so much. Living here has been a crazy adventure and I will miss it a lot. Here are a few things I will miss most about Korea.

1. My school and students. Yes, they drove me crazy at times but they made me laugh and we had a good two years together.

Miryeok Elementary School
Nodong Elementary School
Boseong Cho Elementary School

2. My friends that I made here. I have met a lot of great people here and I am going to miss them greatly.

3. The food. The food here is quite delicious. If I don't get Korean food everyday I start to crave it. My favorite is Kimchi jiggae but I can make a whole list of a lot more delicious Korean foods.

4. I actually am going to miss not being the center of attention. haha No one is going to notice me anymore... I will just be one of them... no big deal. Yes, it can be super annoying at times but when they say hi or tell me how beautiful I am it makes me happy.

5. Being able to travel. I was able to do so much being here. I was pretty much travelling somewhere on my weekends and it was great. I am going to miss being able to go to festivals and exploring the Country.

6. You know what? I am actually going to miss living in a small town. What!? I know. The reason I enjoy it so much is because it is quite relaxing and I have been really get to the people in town. Boseong has become my second home.

7. Green Tea Ice Cream. Boseong green tea ice cream is the best thing you will ever eat! It is seriously so good.

I know I will get home and think of a lot more things that I miss about Korea but this is all I can think about right now. I am mostly excited about coming home!

Thanks Korea for everything. I will miss you but it is my time to head back home. Byeeeeeee!!!!

  1. Hi Justin, I just read your blog and I happen to be a current English teacher at two schools you taught at. I found your blog while looking at the pictures of nodong elementary school on Google. I wonder, what year did you teach here?
