Another Field Trip Day For Me!

My school is the best and let me tell you why! I have never been in a school that has so much fun and field trips as Miryeok Elementary School. Students get to take dance, piano, art, English, and soccer classes on top of their regular classes. They also get to go on field trips all the time. I think my students have gone on a field trip almost every week that I have been there. I am actually kind of jealous that they get to have all that fun but am excited that I get to join them in the fun. The students are not the only ones that get all the fun even the teachers gets to go on field trips! Yesterday, all the staff and teachers went on a field trip. I will give you the brief account of my adventures with my staff through my pictures!

The day started off at five thirty in the morning. >.< I had to catch the bus in Boseong with some of the other staff and then we traveled to Gwangju (an hour and half away) to pick up all the rest of the people. It was an adventure trying to find the bus I was supposed to take. I almost got on the wrong bus with a bunch of older Koreans... good thing I didn't because I have no idea where I would have ended up. haha
On the way to our hike we stopped at a rest stop to eat "breakfast". My school really knows how to make a field trip good because we ate all day long! Being that everyone is Korean we did have some interesting foods but that's what makes it adventure right?

Our first destination on our field trip was Sonunsa Temple. We went on a little hike around the trails. I was so amazed because it was absolutely gorgeous! Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I just love the colors that the leaves turn and the breezy cold air. The entire time I was walking around, I could not help but take a ton of pictures! ^^

Our next stop on our tour was a small neighborhood somewhere in Korea (I slept the whole time I was on the bus, so I have no clue where we actually ended up). In this neighborhood all of the houses were painted with flowers and vibrant colors. My favorite part about this neighborhood is each house has a mural of the owners of the house. We even got to see one of the owners of the house walking around! I think he was probably annoyed at us because all of the teachers were looking at him and were talking to him about the mural. I think they get a lot of tourist so I do not blame him for being a it irritated. Can you imagine? So funny!

One of our last stops on our tour was Chaeseokgang. We first stopped at a palace near the beach. Apparently a famous general in Korea lived/ fought here during the Japanese invasion and became a very important hero. This is also the place where a Korean Drama was filmed (I cannot tell you which one it is because I do not watch them).
The last stop we went to was Chaeseokgang Cliff (bottom right photo).

We ended up back in Gwangju for dinner later that night. The rest of the staff were going to go clubbing after dinner but I was not feeling very well so I left a bit early. Part of me was interested in going to the club with them just out of pure curiosity but part of me was also kind of nervous to go out with my older coworkers to the club haha. The first time I heard that we were going to the club was right before dinner when my coworkers said to me, "All the teachers will go clubbing after dinner, you will come and get home around 11 pm or 12 am... Do not worry." As the other teacher turns to me and tells me that this is not your normal type of club it is where all the older people hang out. hahaha What? Many other funny encounters with my coworkers happened throughout the day but I will not make you listen to all of my rants. I just thought I would leave you with one "Just Justine" moment to laugh about. ^o^
